For a while now, I've had the same idea stuck in my head: what if I went back to basics and started a small vinyl collection with my favorite albums?
In the middle of all-digital everything, I missed the physical, tangible feel of vinyl more than I expected.
At home, I'm lucky to have a Sonos system in the living room:
- Sonos Arc Ultra (which just replaced my Sonos Beam Gen 1)
- Sonos One x2 as surrounds
- Sub Mini
Since installing the Sonos Arc Ultra, one simple question kept coming up:
"Can I listen to my vinyl records on my whole Sonos system?"
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yes, but not in just one way.
Sonos Arc Ultra and vinyl: the starting point
First thing to know: the Sonos Arc Ultra has no wired audio input.
No RCA, no jack.
So if you imagined plugging your turntable straight into the soundbar... nope.
But there is a key update: the Sonos Arc Ultra supports Bluetooth.
(and I had no idea when I bought it in late 2025)
That changes a lot.
Option 1: Turntable via Bluetooth > Sonos Arc Ultra
This is clearly the simplest option, and the first one I tried.
I use a Sony PS-LX310BT.
If your turntable has Bluetooth (or you add a small Bluetooth transmitter):
- you pair the turntable to the Sonos Arc Ultra
- start your record
- and the sound can play across the whole Sonos system
What I like
- zero hassle
